The Dapper Dans on a Winter Morning

The Dapper Dans have been performing at the Magic Kingdom at WDW since 1971. They perform nine show a day, seven days a week. In the morning the usually arrive at the Main Street USA on the horse drawn trolley. During the afternoon you could happen upon them anywhere on Main street, even in the barbershop. Their must see show is at 5pm along with the Magic Kingdom Security Guard for the Flag Retreat Ceremony.

They really are good and fun to watch. On this day they were using the Deagan Organ Chimes. Each of the eight chimes has three octaves of a single note, comprising a C scale. Amazing!

The performances, like the Dapper Dan's is what gives Disney it's magic. It you get a chance slow down on your visit and enjoy all the little experiences, you will add unforgettable memories.

Finding Mickey Mouse - in the Shadow

It is noon at the Magic Kingdom you stop, to sit and just have a relaxing moment.  Would you notice this Hidden Mickey?

During certain times of day you can spot this Mickey on the concert border around the Partners Statue in front of Cinderella's Castle.  It is the railing that actual forms the shadow.  How cool is this?  You know that nothing is done by accident.

A Temporary Hidden Mickey Mouse

On a rainy afternoon at the Magic Kingdom, my husband and I ducked into Cosmic Ray's Starlight cafe, to grab a bite to eat. As we enjoyed a burger and a quite moment I spotted a cast member joyously cleaning the windows.  He smiled and hummed while he cleaned.  Surprisingly, with only a hand few of people in the cafe, he was creating one of my favorite kinds of Hidden Mickeys.  With his foaming window cleaner he drew Mickey after Mickey only to wipe them away.  He was delighted in making anyone chuckle, who happened to noticed what he was doing.  However, he really seemed to amuse himself the most.

Keep your eyes open, you never know what special moment you will come upon.

The Orange Octopus

I have photographed this sign several times.  It is on one of the popcorn carts at the Animal Kingdom.  The stylized craftsmanship of this piece reminds me of sculpture. The orange is bright and eye-catching.   The tentacles are  strong, yet whimsical.  It would be great to hang in my home.  There is so much art to take in at WDW, it is like visiting an art gallery.

WDW for the Birds

Even the birds had a great time at Epcot.  A dip in the Fountain of Nations was prefect to cool off.  Wish I could have joined them.  I bet they were not as happy when the performance started.

One the busiest areas at the Magic Kingdom is the Hub where the Partners statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse stand.  It is a great location to photographic Cinderella's Castle.  There are also plenty of benches to take a break.  Many visitors don't notice the other statues encircling the Partners statue.  They are some of my favorite characters.  As my husband rested on one of the  benches I strolled around to admire the other smaller statues.  I happen to snap a quick shot of Minnie Mouse and turned to move on, when I noticed that she is lovingly looking towards Walt and Mickey.  Need I say more.

I think I am going to try this one again for an even better angle.

Stroll over to the Plaza Rose Garden to find a romantic quite moment at the Magic Kingdom.  Nestled between the paths of Main Street U.S.A and Tomorrowland you can admire the roses, gaze at Cinderella's Castle, holds hands with your loved one.  The waterfall near Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe helps to drown out the noise of the crowd.  One of my top rated spots for a peaceful break.

This wondrous fish is really a dolphin on top of the fountain in front of the restrooms in the United Kingdom Pavilion.  If  you keep your eyes peeled you will discover many mythical dolphins through out the parks of WDW.

With the crisp air of October bringing us closer to Halloween I give you this photo.  Do you know where you can find it?  It is located in the dark deep outdoor sitting area of Pizzafari at the Animal Kingdom.  There in the jungle you never know what creepy crawlys you will see.

"Allo Saulte" - means The Health in Italian.
Where in WDW is this from?  Along the facade of the one of the shops in the Italy Pavilion.  When you find it stop and have a drink ... a drink of water that is.

Here you are peaking over Pinocchio's shoulder as he smiles at Jimny  Cricket.  Do you know where in WDW you can find this?  Of course he sits at the central hub at Magic Kingdom on Main street in front of Cinderella's Castle along with other bronze statues of iconic Disney characters. Stop and enjoy them all.

Beer Taps at the Animal Kingdom

While waiting for my husband to buy a drink at one of the many concessions stands at the Animal Kingdom I saw these wood carved beer taps.

They were on the side of the stand.  I do not believe they were actual being used.  The detail of the carvings was beautiful.  Keep your eye open, the details at WDW always will surprise you.

A Postcard from Coronado Springs

Hanging near my desk is this postcard from Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.  I got it while staying there in 2000.  It was free, in my room.  When every I look at it, I am reminded of swimming in their Mayan-ruin themed pool.  How, amazing is it to be swimming and look up and see a pyramid.

I am not sure if they still have these postcards in the room, I hope the do.  It was a great free souvenir, that I enjoy all the time.

Reflections of the Castle

Everyone that has seen Cinderella's Castle has released a sigh and then a giggle of joy.  "I am here, the Happiest Place on Earth"  Once that moment passes, take the time to walk around the castle, through the tunnel, enjoy all of it's detail and magic.  Even the mote offers a different perceptive.  Just look at my photo again, it actual is the reflection of the castle in the mote's water.

OMG, I was going through my albums looking for a photo a  second reflection.  I guess I have the beauty in this before.
