During this spring's Flower and Garden show at Epcot, I was able to spend a few quite moments in the butterfly area.  I found this little caterpillar, enjoying some milk weed.

This is no Gnome like Mickey Gnome

I would love to have this happy Mickey Gnome living in my garden.  I first saw him a year ago at Epcot's International Flower and Garden Festival.   I am glad to see that his popularity has kept on the shelf.  Some day he might just come home with me to live.

My Mickey Topiary

This is my last post about the 2010 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival.  Every year I am so inspired by all the beautiful gardens and landscaping.  This year I purchased my own Mickey topiary.

Here is Mickey when I first got home in April 2010.

Here is Mickey in June 2010, still doing Great!

Tricky Troll Topiary - Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival 2010

In the Norway Pavilion you can always find a few trolls hanging about, ride the Maelstrom if you dare.  While visiting during the Flower & Garden Festival it was nice to find this troll topiary.  He did not seem to be causing an trouble among the flowers.

Also feature in this pavilion during the festival is one of my favorite flowers, the Hollyhock.  They come in an variety of colors and grow uniquely tall.

Bonsai Collection - Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival 2010

One of my favorite stops when visiting Epcot is the Japan Pavilion.  The are so many reasons I love walking around in this area on any given day.  During the Flower & Garden Festival the Bonsai are placed out on display.  Bonsai (盆栽 Japanese) (lit. tray cultivation) is the art of growing trees, or woody plants shaped as trees, in containers.  The are not difficult to grow, the just require care and patience, I use to had a few in my younger years and used them as the center pieces for our wedding reception.   Make sure you stop and appreciate these wonders trees.

Don't forget to walk around the whole pavilion and enjoy all of the great details in the landscape and architecture.

Water Wise Herbs & Vegetables - Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival 2010

Located just before the Canada Pavilion was a small water wise herbs and vegetable garden.   I was only able to take two photos.  The garden was packed full of people.  It was diffidently worth the walk less then 2 minute walk through.  Given the popularity of this garden, I hope that Disney gives it a larger area next year.  I will admit that after seeing the pineapple plant I wen home an planted one.  It is doing great!

Mickey & Minnie Topiary - Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival 2010

Located on the at the end of the bridge entering World Showcase where the topiary of Mickey and Minne.  Dressed in their work clothes to start their day of farming, the two looked adorable.  Surrounding them was a garden of vegetables.  If only my vegetable garden looked so good, I do not have as green a thumb as these two.

Let's Get Moving - Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival 2010

The "Lets get Moving" featured two unique play area for children from 2-5 and 6 and older.  There was plenty of climbing going on here.  It look so fun, wish they had an adult play are.  I mean that I want to slide on a slide and climb a jungle gym.  So, don;t even go any where else.  Anyway, the kids really did look like they were having fun.

There were some great topiary to enjoy, themed from the movie Fantasia.

Xeriscapes - Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival 2010

Many people forget to walk around the Imagination area during the festival.  Their are no topiary, however the landscaping is amazing.  Flowers and tress are all in bloom.

There is also a small garden dedicated to xeriscapes.  Xeriscaping and xerogardening refers to landscaping and gardening in ways that reduce or eliminate the need for supplemental water from irrigation. It is promoted in regions that do not have easily accessible, plentiful, or reliable supplies of fresh water, and is gaining acceptance in other areas as climate patterns shift.
