Lunch at the T Rex Cafe January 17, 2010
The restaurant opened at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World in Florida on October 14, 2008. It is located near McDonald’s and Fulton’s. This is the first time we have ever eaten here. It will remind you of the Rain Forest cafe, but then again the same company owns both. Even if you do not want to eat here you should go in and look around.
The dinosaur animatronics, are fun to look at, but
noisy to eat to. The wait was not that long for a Sunday afternoon. We were sat in the ice room, which is beautiful and dark. Hope you do not want to see your food.
The food is average (the portions are huge), the price is high, but the atmosphere is spectacular.
Jason eat Omnivore's Delight - Iceberg, romaine, and baby greens with goat cheese, Ocean Spray Craisins, strawberries, red onion, and carmelized pecans. Tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette dressing - $15.99
My Mom (Ann) eat Bronto Burger - 100% beef burger piled high with a fried onion ring, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and your choice of cheese - $12.99 Plus an order of fries.
I eat T-Rexadillas - Chicken, peppers, green onions, Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses grilled in flour tortillas and served with Pica de Gallo, sour cream and Guacamole - $9.99
Of course don't forget to check out the gift shop on the way out.
In all we had fun. I would recommend bring your kids to visit, but maybe eat at McDonald's next door to save some money.
