The Nejjarine Fountain

In the courtyard you will found a replica of the Nejjarine Fountain in the city of Fez. The original is located at the place of Nejjarine at Bali.  Artists developed  this great  style of abstract design.

Did you realize you are experiencing small pieces of Moroccan culture

Favorite Photo Friday

One of my favorite places to wonder through and have a quite moment is in the Moroccan Pavilion.  Many visitors do not take the time to explore all the beauty.  Here is a The Fes house's courtyard which is typical for a Moroccan home.  How blue is that sky?

Wondering around the Morocco Pavilion at Epcot I was happy to find this camel.  How cool is a camel that wears a Fez?  The Pavilion is designed to look like a Moroccan city, the country's government aided in the design. They also sponsor the pavilion, unlike the others which have corporate sponsorship.

I purposely took this photo from a low angle to make it seem like the camel was holding the lantern.  The lantern is actually hanging from the archway. I am really happy with the result.

Little know fun fact:  The Tower of Terror is visible at a certain angle from the Moroccan Pavilion.  The top of the Tower was designed to blend in Moroccan architecture, so it would not stand out.  Next time I am there I will try to see if I can photographic that.

Aladdin Topiary - Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival 2010

I know the Festival is over, but I still have many photos for you to enjoy.  One of my favorite places in Epcot is the Morocco Pavilion.  I really feel like I am visiting a place outside of Florida.  The details are wonderful.  It is a prefect fit to place the topiary of Aladdin here. This is not my favorite topiary, the face is strange to me.  However, I love there use of cabbage and lettuce to decorate the garden around Aladdin.  Every year, I say I have to do this in my own flower garden.  You be the judge.

Oh yeah, Morocco is also the home of my favorite Hidden Mickey.  See if  you can find it.
